Dynapac launches new wheeled asphalt pavers range

 7 March 2011

We are proud to introduce the new Dynapac wheeled pavers. They offer high transport speed, best traction and outstanding paving performance. The result: superior productivity to get you into pole position.

The range includes F2500W, a conventional electrics controlled paver, as well as SD2500W and SD2500WS, two plc-electric controlled pavers that are designed to meet the needs of contractors and rental companies around the world. All three pavers are powered by water cooled Cummins QSB 6.7 diesel engines.

Dynapac introduces a large number of features in the new F-series and SD-series to ensure a great operator comfort and to maximize availability of the pavers.

These new features on the SD-series pavers include a slideable operator´s platform, an integrated leveling system and a new hydraulic concept that combines precise handling with an intelligent traction system.

Outstanding driving experience
Dynapac has put a lot of effort into having the most modern drive concept in the paver industry. The rear wheel drive of the SD-pavers is equipped with efficient variable displacement pumps to ensure high torque and traction on every jobsite. Another innovation is the AddTraxxion concept for the front wheel drive – unlike in the past, the hydraulic front drive adapts itself to the actual load, so that the paver always has optimum traction, with a filled or empty hopper.

Not only has the hydraulic concept been reworked, but the entire undercarriage has been redesigned for the F and the SD-pavers. The length of the paver is only 6100 mm. An impressive inner and outer turning radius (2.4 m / 6.1 m) makes the paver easy to maneuver and allows it to handle narrow work areas. Since Dynapac wheeled pavers are well known for their stability and smooth operation, great effort has been put in the design of the undercarriage. The result is a well balanced wheel base which, together with the new 445 mm wide low profile tires, ensures smooth paving results.

Putting the operator in control
One way to achieve high quality paving is to optimize the ergonomics. This is ensured by a design that allows operators to have continuous visibility of the paving operation and also comfortable access to the controls. The machines feature full visibility over all working areas (hopper, auger and screed) during operation.

The new control panel gives operators the information they need. All the gauges are clearly displayed – rpm, fuel, voltage, number of hours, and more. On the SD-series the operator also has 6.5 inch color display and can change between different menus at the touch of a button.

Maximizing availability
Service is made simple by an effective design concept, such as concentrating all pumps to one side. The fuel tank capacity has also been increased to 315 l maximized the intervals for refilling.

Thanks to the modular management, we now have only two service kits for new generation of three Dynapac wheeled and six tracked pavers. This means less investment in inventory for customers. Dynapac's focus on a common service and maintenance concept reduces training needs for our customers.

Environmental benefits
A key feature from Dynapac is the decision to equip the engines with eco-mode, which produces less noise, especially at the operator’s platform. Noise is also reduced through the use of a hydraulically driven, temperature-controlled cooling fan, which only operates when needed. This separated cooling fan drive helps minimize fuel consumption.

Many of the enhancements, like reduced fuel consumption or quieter operation, provide environmental benefits. Efficiency enhancements and the new hydraulic concept have saved several kW in the operation of a typical model in the range, with consequent improvements in the running costs and noise.
